one last time

I HAVE COLOURFUL BIO NOTES HAHAHA.
And I think my handwriting's quite nice today lehh.
Zomg bimbo rant haha.
Pollination pollination.
Insect-pollinated flowers have large conspicuous petals which can attract insects and also insects can use it as a landing platform, just like how Changi Airport has that (not so large) conspicuous ball ball thing and a large landing platform because it's plane-pollinated.
Insect-pollinated flowers have heavy, sticky, large pollen grains with rough surface which can stick on insects easily, just like how velcro is invented I bet. And then they have that sticky stigmas which is supposedly the other side of the velcro. How original hurrr velcros.
Insect-pollinated flowers have nice smelling scents and pretends to be a female insect sometimes, as if female insects wear perfumes. I bet they don't even know what Chanel is.
Insect-pollinated flowers provides food such as nectar and pollen grains because insects get hungry too, and therefore they always want to go to the canteen for food. But they still do barter trade because they have no money. And the nectar guides are there in case they forgot how to walk to the canteen because they have short-term memories.
Now for wind-pollinated flowers.
Wind-pollinated flowers are a group of wrinkly old woman with grumpy attitudes because they are dull, small and inconspicuous, so insects don't ever take notice of them. How despo for them to even want insects which are of a totally different species as them. I think another reason why they are unmarried is because they are unscented. Come on women wear some perfume they increase your ratings very very well.
And yes because of their resentments due to the unsuccessful attempts at attracting their insects counterparts, they refuse to provide food. A hungry man is an angry man, and therefore insects keep a good distance away from them. Or maybe they are just afraid of getting lost since there's no nectar guides.
Thankfully they are still kind of smart and independent because they have a good friend called the wind which offers to transfer their small, dry, light pollen grains with smooth surface for free. Yeah therefore we can see wind-pollinated flowers are kind of cheapskate hur. But of course the only thing they can do to assist their windy friend is to make life a bit better? Thus they get their anthers ready by having long, slender filaments and feathery stigmas so that they can better catch their pollen grains. Yes, the small, dry and light ones.
Meanwhile, they can continue hoping for the insects to take notice of them, but trust me that will never happen, no matter how long they live :)

Another thing you might wanna know about pollination is the difference between self-pollination and cross-pollination. I never did say they're the same so they are not the same.
Self-pollinated flowers are again, another bunch of antisocial spinster who hates to socialise a little with their same-species-but-different-plants plants. In some way you can say they have an attitude problem but then again they make the world a better place.
For one, you don't need to bother with your so called pollinators and even make friends with them or attract them or whatever. You just do what you like and you still get pollinated in the end, so what? I mean it's just pollinating either on the same flower or to another flower on the same plant what, so near! And so so convenient. Energy saving too, which is super useful in this global warming times.
And yes, it often ends up in a single-parent family because come on you only need one plant right? So one plant = one parent, and therefore single-parent. But I don't think they mind much, look at the papaya! And yes you can just save your operation cost cause you can just produce less pollen grains, since success rate is pretty high and how many times can you pollinate the same flower you tell me?
However, these poor single-parent family kids do not have genetic variations, because their parents INSIST they have the same genes as them, and thus they often become ggfied when some epidemic comes and wipe them out. In other words, they are weaker to changes in the environment. Who can blame them seriously, at least we still have our papayas to eat. By the way papayas are good for digestion :)
Cross-pollinated flowers on the other hand, are your so called extroverts. They make friends with everybody and are always thinking about their next generations. Therefore, they benefit from the so called genetic variations because they will survive an epidemic. If you want to quote the textbook, you can say they restore the vigour of a species. What vigour I don't know, but I don't think humans should try it, it sounds wrong somehow.
Another benefit from coming out of a nice stable family with 2 parents - you might get valuable qualities from both your parents. Don't get your hopes up though, it's just a possibility only! Don't blame it on me when things don't turn out right.

Alright done! Hope you guys had a wonderful time reading and studying your pollination hahaha.
